Fast in Fuchsia
Ed Hedrick campaigned this 289 Cobra, CSX 2093, after purchasing it from Jim Costilow in 1966. Costilow and Bruce Larson had previously been very successful in the A/SP and AA/SP classes having won both the 1965 Springnationals and the 1965 Winternationals. Under Hedrick's ownership "The Fuscia One" took home the 1966 NHRA World Championship.

Rothalike
Here's an old iron on transfer I had lying around. It's little wonder that Roth was such a success when you see the ghoulash his competitors were dishing up.

Gentlemen Start Your Engines
This record has been in my possession for the best part of 40 years. I remember being barely unable to contain my excitement when I unearthed this gem at a school fete for the princely sum of 10 cents. It's funny, but I would be just as excited if I found another copy tomorrow !

The Low Down
If you dig Astro Supremes and lace paint then do yourself a favour and check out Wheels Are Everything. Here are a couple of awesome photoshop lowering jobs I borrowed from the blog, which show you just how good these cars look riding on the right wheels, just as the name suggests.

Thanks
I have come to the realization that I am an image hoarder. My computer is choked with pictures of cars launching toward the stratosphere, drag slicks spinning into oblivion, thanks in no small part to the efforts of photographers like the late Bob Plumer. Bob was gracious enough to share his vast collection on the internet for us all to enjoy. Here are a few of Bob's iconic photos from the strip.
Thanks Bob.
Thanks Bob.
